- Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! First of all, congratulations on your new release, Groupie. Feed us something juicy about the book!
Thank you so much for having me! Well, Groupie is beyond juicy because...drum roll, please...there's not one, not two, but FIVE amazing love interests in this trilogy. Our main character, Lilith, gets to fall in love with five gorgeous rockstar guys. Oh, and she doesn't have to choose just one. ;)
- I’m always interested to learn about the inspiration behind a story. Who or what has been your biggest inspiration throughout your writing process for Groupie?
Music has definitely been one of the biggest sources of inspiration for this story. If it wasn't for Falling in Reverse, Escape the Fate, Crown the Empire, and Pierce the Veil, I'm not sure it would've turned out the way it did. Obviously, for a book about rockstars, music plays a big part in writing concert scenes, making sure that wild energy is infused into the roar of the audience, the beating of drums, the plucking of guitar strings, but it also sets the emotional ambience for kissing, sex, tearful moments and smiles.
- Why did you choose to write in your particular field or genre? If you write more than one, how do you balance them?
I write whatever I'm feeling inside, and I try not to limit it to just one genre or subject. The only requirement I have is that the story includes romance and sex. Otherwise, all bets are off! I write romance, erotica, new adult, young adult, fantasy, bikers, rockers, stepbrothers, etc. As far as balance, each genre and subgenre has a special flare that draws readers to it—in MC romance, it's the action or in rockstar books, the music. I just make sure to add those unique elements to each story.
- What is the biggest thing that people THINK they know about your subject/genre, but that isn't so?
A lot of people perceive romance/erotica as “lesser” than other genres. I'm not sure why that is because some of the most beautiful, descriptive and gripping writing that I've ever read has been in one/both of these areas. There's often the misconception that if a book has explicit sex in it, there won't be a compelling story, and that's just not the case. For me, sex is just a part of life. Why would I tell you what kind of coffee my character drinks or what her favorite brand of clothing is and then glaze over all of her sexual experiences?
- Do you find it hard to develop your characters’ personalities? Who is the hardest for you to write in Groupie?
Oh, it was definitely a challenge in Groupie because there's not one but SIX main characters. All five of Lilith's boys needed to be unique, needed to have a strong enough personality to stand equal with the others. It was a constant struggle to balance all of the boys, make sure they had enough screen time, and also let the reader know who they really were inside. The hardest to write for me was Michael Luxe, but I won't say why because I don't want to give any spoilers! ;)
- What’s more important in a story? The characterization or the plot?
The characterization! Obviously it's a matter of opinion, but I prefer character driven stories. I want to become the lead character and I want to fall head over heels for the love interest(s). I just love getting inside the characters heads and seeing what makes them tick.
- How did you come up with the name of your book?
I actually knew the name of the book before I even started writing it—Groupie. The main character ends up falling in love (and into bed with!) all five guys in the rock band Beauty in Lies and staying in their bus during their cross-country tour. Groupie was really the only title that fit in my mind.
- Fun fact question: If you can describe your main characters with a famous celebrity/musician/rockstar, who would it be?
Oh, these questions kill me! I'm not very good with celebrities, but I'll do my best. Here we go...

- Do you have any writing rituals or pet peeves?
I always have to have a playlist, and I almost always have music playing. Sometimes I'll put on a background show, something I've seen a bunch of times that I don't have to pay much attention to. I write all over the house—my bed, the couch, my office, my spare bedroom, outside. It really depends on the weather and my mood. I think my most consistent writing ritual is that I have no firm rules!
- Any final thoughts to your readers?

I write in so many different genres—at the time of this posting, I have over 50 books published—so there should be something for everyone!
